Ultrasonic Compressive Strength Analyzer

CTI-5265 ultrasonic compressive strength analyzer is designed to detect the development of the compressive strength of cement samples cured at a simulated temperature and pressure. Through measuring the changes in speed of ultrasonic wave signals that pass through cement samples during their hardening, the instrument can determine the compressive strength of cement. With the increase in the compressive strength of cement, the transmit time of the ultrasonic wave signals that pass through cement samples will decrease gradually, thus we can work out the corresponding compressive strength of cement by using the know-how verified by the petroleum & natural gas industry. The cement slurry to be tested may be blended using the CTI-3060 constant speed blender manufactured by Shenyang Tiger and prepared as required in API Specification 10. The prepared cement slurry will be poured into the pressure vessel and raise the temperature and pressure inside the pressure vessel to the specific oil well conditions. The sample in the pressure vessel should be cured for 8h, 12h, 24h or 7 days in general while the compressive strength of the sample is measured simultaneously. 

The CTI-5265 ultrasonic wave system consists of a pressure vessel, a central processing mainboard and the data acquisition system. The computer data acquisition system is installed with CTI-5270-dedicated application software with ultrasonic wave function.

CTI-5265 ultrasonic wave system has a compact structure: the pressure vessel features its shockproof case-type structure that has undergone years of verification in practice, equipped with a PCB, an industrial microprocessor with superior reliability and special-purpose hardening software. The PC-based data acquisition is achieved through the WINDOWS operating system on the computer, in which CTI-5270 data acquisition and control system is running.

Operation

Prepare the cement slurry to be tested according to the method suggested by API, and then pour it into the pressure vessel, where the underground curing environment can be simulated through temperature and pressure control. The temperature is controlled by means of a temperature controller on the high-temperature high-pressure thickener or curing autoclave; pressure is controlled manually by means of a high-pressure air pump and a pressure release valve. Such a pressure control system has undergone years of verification by Shenyang Tiger through practical applications in its high-temperature high-pressure curing autoclave. If you want the pressure to be controlled more accurately, an optional precision pressure control console is available to control the system pressure. The PC-based central processor is installed with CTI-5207 data acquisition and control software, used for measuring the transmit time of the ultrasonic wave signals that pass through the cement sample and calculating the corresponding compressive strength. The data points measured will be recorded on the hardware consecutively. The compressive strength, temperature and transmit time measured or curve charts of experimental parameters versus time parameter can be always displayed on the computer screen during a test. The hard copies of curve charts can be printed out as required. Pressure display and/or drawing of curve charts is an optional function. As the newest generation of data acquisition and control system developed by Shenyang Tiger, the CTI-5270 data acquisition and control system not only functions to measure the transmit time of ultrasonic waves, but can be used for the acquisition of experimental data from our products. CTI-5270 is a general data acquisition and control platform for Shenyang Tiger’s products.
